For 2025, Santa Cruz have an all new Ebike, the Vala!
Essentially replacing the Heckler, so why the new name?
- NEW Bosch CX motor system with 600wh battery
- NEW 4-bar suspension
- 150mm rear/160mm front travel
- Mixed wheels
- "Gloss Grey" or "Gloss Midnight Green"
We'd call it a versatile, mid travel all rounder ebike. Lighter than the outgoing Heckler, loads of features to fine tune and the latest Bosch drive system brings things bang up to date. That adds to the versatility too, with a built in 600wh battery and the option of adding the 250Wh Powermore range extender.

Bosch Performance Line CX motor
The move to Bosch is a bit of a change for Santa Cruz, lining up with the launch of the new version of the Performance Line CX motor and associated parts. Lighter motor and particularly batteries knocks the weight down. The Vala comes with the light 600Wh battery and is Powermore 250 compatible. This gives the best of both worlds in our eyes - you can run the lighter, smaller battery for the majority of rides - adding the Powermore if required for big days in the hills.
A new suspension layout for Santa Cruz!
To package the motor and make some of the changes the Bronson and Hightower have seen, Santa Cruz have moved away from their VPP system and the Vala comes with a 4-bar setup. We still see the usual Santa Cruz attention to details;
- bigger bearings
- locking collet axles on main pivots
- lifetime bearing warranty
There's also a new geometry flip chip on the linkage and a progression adjustment chip on the lower shock mount - plenty to play with to fine tune your bike!
For the builds, it's much what you'd expect with the usual Carbon C and CC frame options and associated builds.
- Fox 38 and Float X suspension
- Sram Maven brakes
- One Up V3 dropper seatposts
Vala does see a change on tyres, to Schwalbe for the new Magic Mary Radial
We'll see Vala deliveries over the coming months, with the majority due into the New Year. As ever, give us a shout to chat orders, spec changes or with any questions!
