2025 Core news - Hope Technology

Here's the first of a few posts with some updates from the recent trade shows we've visited.  February featured a few trade shows for us, most notably Core Bike at Whittlebury Hall, where many of our suppliers gather for the chance of a big catch up and see what's planned for the year.

To kick off, Lancashire favourites Hope Technology made use of the reception area again, showing most of their range of bikes and parts, plus a few new parts that launched at the show.

New anodising colours

Hope have struggled with consistency on their latest Bronze colour, so have discontinued it and headed back to the drawing board.  Much of the trouble with Bronze was that it was even more reliant on anodising time than other colours, with temperature, humidity and the slight variation in material all playing their part.

With that in mind, Hope have tested many colours, with a real focus on consistency.  They've now shortlisted 3 colours - Mocha, Smoke and Forest.  These all look excellent in the flesh, really rather classy.

Hope were taking votes from dealers during the show.  Smoke was probably our favourite, but we suspect that Forest will win that vote given how many folks seem keen to get parts in Hope Factory green!  We'll update when we know more, but it's fingers crossed from us that Hope decide to add all 3 at some point in the future.

Pricing - the winner will be added to the range at some point this year, no extra cost

Handlebars

Hope are, we believe, the only brand manufacturing a carbon-fibre mountain bike bar themselves in the UK, so it's great to see them add another couple of options.  While not quite as high as many brands are going, there's now a 35mm rise to go alongside the existing 20mm.  They're keeping with offering both clamp sizes for this new rise too, so 31.8 and 35mm will be available.

Pricing - £180, as per the 20mm rise.  Due late April (35mm) and August (31.8mm)

RX Carbon Cranks

Following the introduction of their Carbon Mountain bike crank, Hope now have a Gravel/Cyclocross option too!  This replaces the RX Aluminium crank and features the same UK made construction, with replaceable pedal inserts, a choice of hardware colours and compatibility with their range of Spiderless chainrings.

Pricing - £550 (give us a shout for a combo price along with bottom bracket and/or chainring!). Due early April.

RX2 brake calipers

The excellent Hope RX4+ calipers have been a shop favourite to replace leaking calipers on drop bar bikes, but those on the more road side of the spectrum have been asking for something a little lighter.  Enter the RX2, with 2 pistons instead of 4!  As with the RX4+, there's compatibility for either Shimano (Mineral) or Sram (DOT) systems and the usual range of Hope anodised colours.

Pricing - £100/caliper.  Due late April.

With any of these Hope parts - please give us a shout if you'd like to get a preorder in.  If you need parts fitting, that's certainly something we can help with too!
